I have enjoyed creating searchroll's for my blog and in particular found gathering the sites
for recipes and bookshops very useful. I consider this tool a very practical one!

#11 Librarything
I have enjoyed using http://www.librarything.com/ and have added entries of recent books I have read. I will tell my bookgroup about this site and suggest we set up an entry of books we have enjoyed for the year.

After a slow start, I have revisited RSS feeds and had far more success.
RSS means Really Simple Syndication and saves users valuable time in directing newsfeeds and websites to one place and at one time.
I have set up bloglines account ( a free online newsreader) and subscribed to several staff blogs as well as library based ones, health topics and boingboing! So many great ideas created for this internet age!

Once you become familiar with the different types of news feed icons, they suddenly catch your attention and another piece of the puzzle clicks into place.
I tried using Blogline's search tool and added a really good astronomy feed. I tried to use Feedster.com but its' site was being maintained. Technorati looked useful for finding popular blogs on a range of subjects.
